A Microcosm of the Holocaust
It impacts the community negatively. People can believe they are superior over others. It can isolate groups of people. It can create fear and paranoia amongst the community.
ReplyDeleteIf a group/people are targeted wouldn't there be an overall atmospher of distrust? No one would ever really feel safe or secure. That would be a difficult environment to live in on a daily basis.

It divides people and prevents them from forming a cohesive community. Groups become separated in an adversarial atmophere. Feelings of security and cooperation within the community become scarce. Victims of discrimination feel marginalized and persecuted, while bytanders can feel disconnected and insecure.
ReplyDeleteDiscrimination is a big problem in society. People discriminate for so many reasons. I feel we need to help students see that differences are good to have and should be respected.
